wednesday Shilen Patel’s £900 million safety net is already planned, with scheduled meetings

A £900million safety net could already be on the cards for Shilen Patel at West Brom as emergency talks are scheduled to provide a financial deal for the EFL.

The Daily Mirror reported on page 55 of its print edition on Wednesday (21 February) that Premier League clubs are due to meet on 29 February to try and reach an agreement on a £900million, six-year package for the football pyramid.

Emergency negotiations to secure a financial agreement for the EFL are scheduled, which might mean that Shilen Patel at West Brom already has a £900 million safety net in the works.

On page 55 of its print edition, The Daily Mirror said on Wednesday, February 21st, that Premier League clubs will be meeting on February 29th to attempt to come to an agreement on a six-year, £900 million deal for the football pyramid.

Many of those clubs have played in the football league in recent years, even though they have won the opportunity to play in the Premier League, where the riches are significantly more than in any other division.

Twenty teams should not be the only ones to profit while the others struggle to keep up or, more often than not, just survive.

In the event that American businessman Patel had not come to an agreement to purchase Guochuan Lai’s 87.8% majority interest, West Brom would have needed the money to go down.

The Baggies’ future was becoming more and more bleak prior to that sale closing since the team had been badly run for a number of years and had taken out large loans.
Albion is currently fighting for a spot in the Premier League for the upcoming season, so they may be among the fortunate few who can benefit from all that the top division has to offer.

However, given what they’ve experienced, it’s unlikely that they will forget how important that money is for the EFL clubs even if they do make it to the Championship playoffs this season.

However, if their promotion bid is unsuccessful, the money that filters down could be crucial in enabling them to mount a campaign the following season.

In any case, rather than concentrating only on winning, the Premier League teams must make the necessary payments today to help ensure the future of English football.
