Wednesday in Sheffield
Danny Röhl acknowledges in Sheffield Wednesday’s pep talk the truth that “everyone knows.”

Sheffield Wednesday’s manager, Danny Röhl, is not going to back down from the challenge that lies ahead of them as they continue what appears to be a run of “winnable” games that could define their season.

This afternoon, the Owls will host midtable Bristol City to Hillsborough in an attempt to improve on their three previous games, in which they have earned six of a possible nine points. The Robins come in fresh off a thrilling 3-1 victory against promotion-contending Southampton last midweek, but they also come off a depressing loss to Wednesday’s fellow relegation zone residents, QPR, last weekend.
The match is the first of three games that Wednesday will consider winnable. Next up is a trip to Rotherham United, a team that is in terrible form and rivals from South Yorkshire, before Plymouth Argyle, a team that is currently in inconsistent form, is welcomed. Not to get ahead of the Robins tie, but Röhl noted that the Millers match is near by and presents a chance since travel days will essentially be eliminated from the historic tripleheader.
“I will not say that the next three games are home games of course, but they are all in this area which is very helpful,” Röhl stated. “Perhaps we can travel together. There was a lot of emotion evident in the huge crowd that followed the Millwall match, as well as in the way my players celebrated their victory. Hopefully, we can recreate similar energy on Saturday, starting at kickoff.
“We have to do something on the pitch to energise the supporters, and those supporters can energise the pitch again. This is a two-way transfer of energy, and we can support one another to get the next outcome. The next three games are crucial for us, as everyone is aware.”
