Breaking: A fresh talented star is welcomed by the Eagles from…

The 2023 Eagles’ apparent skill overload belied their seeming helplessness on the field, which was one of the most perplexing aspects of the squad. Owner Jeffrey Lurie stated that Sirianni was “adamant” about bringing in “top-notch coordinators” for the upcoming season. They think Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore’s expertise will prevent this kind of problem in 2024. The Eagles, who still have a great chance to make a long postseason run, have already filled in many of their holes and replaced some significant departures in free agency. Both coordinators have access to a squad that has mainly kept its solid core.

Saquon Barkley cost a top-eight offense a lot of money. But the Eagles still need to find a solution at right guard while Cam Jurgens is set to take Jason Kelce’s spot at center. Will the young people’s defense front movement succeed? After Fletcher Cox’s retirement, former first-round picks Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter will need to step up, and the Eagles took a chance by trading away Haason Reddick in order to get edge rusher Bryce Huff. The team’s deficiencies at safety (C.J. Gardner-Johnson) and linebacker (Devin White) were addressed by general manager Howie Roseman through free agency, but he could use the draft to strengthen the secondary and reassure himself that James Bradberry, who struggled last season at cornerback, will improve.

Linebacker: Although there is a lot of faith in White and Nakobe Dean, they are still two different gambles. Dean, a third-round selection in 2022, has to demonstrate that he can maintain his health following two stints on injured reserve and a Lisfranc procedure completed last year. White, the No. 5 overall choice in 2019, is a former Pro Bowler who has to demonstrate that his athleticism can improve a scheme rather than be a detriment as he frequently was in 2023. Oren Burks has never started more than five games in a season, while Zack Baun provides greater promise as an edge rusher. With uncertain depth behind both anticipated starters, it wouldn’t hurt to provide an extra linebacker to improve the likelihood of locating a dependable alternative.

Cornerback: There is ample evidence to support the need to fill this post again. Bradberry and Darius Slay, who missed five games due to a knee injury last season, don’t have a lot of money behind them. Though Isaiah Rodgers and Tyler Hall are among the group of veterans, Kelee Ringo (a fourth-round pick in 2023) and Eli Ricks (undrafted in 2023) don’t show much promise just yet. The Eagles are positioning themselves as a top target in a draft full of cornerbacks by not making a significant addition in free agency.
