Jason Kelce’s retirement left a big hole in the hearts of fans. However, the former Philadelphia Eagles center is about to return to the NFL in style, except now he will do so as a television analyst. A few weeks from his long-awaited debut on screen, his wife, Kylie Kelce, did not hesitate to show him her unconditional support.
Jason and Kylie are one of the most well-known and admired couples in the NFL. The love and support between them are evident, especially since Jason decided to hang up his cleats to embrace a career in the media.
Although the former player is no stranger to the cameras, thanks to his work on the podcast “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce, this new role has had him a bit nervous.
However, Kylie is sure that her husband will face this new challenge like all the ones he has overcome in his life, and she is sure that he will also succeed in his new career. “I am mostly excited to see Jason excel in a new position,” the mother of three recently said.
Kylie’s admiration for Jason
In statements to People magazine, Kylie Kelce did not hide her admiration for her husband. “I jokingly say it’s a pain in the butt that he’s good at everything, and I know I’m biased in that, but I truly believe he’s good at everything.”
She explained that if Jason isn’t good at something or doesn’t get off to a good start on one of his many projects, “He will work, endlessly and tirelessly until he can achieve that. So, I have full faith that he’s going to tackle his new position and excel.”
Kylie also highlighted the drastic change in her husband’s job from the playing field to the broadcast booth. “I’m really excited to get to watch him do that. And I think it’s such a shift from sort of physically exerting yourself to getting to sort of showcase your intellectual ability and the way that you analyze games,” she explained.
Despite this, she thought Jason would do an excellent job. “He’s such an analytical person and so I think that this will be the perfect role for him on Monday night with ESPN. I’m really excited to watch him work,” she said.
Jason Kelce’s new job
After a brief period of uncertainty, the former Eagles star accepted the analyst role for NFL Monday Night Football games for ESPN.
The change was still a bit scary for the former player, who admitted his nerves in a chat on the Green Light with Chris Long podcast. “I guess I’m afraid that I’m not going to be prepared,” admitted the elder Kelce.
“I feel like there’s a lot more autonomy,” Jason admitted and explained, “Once you’re removed from it, you’ve got to go out of your way to really watch things and really iron in on what’s happening to do a reputable job.”
Regardless of his role, one thing is certain: Jason Kelce will bring all the passion and commitment that characterized him on the field.
