Luis Diaz gives Liverpool clear answer to Anthony Gordon transfer question

It wasn’t quite a message declaring who needs Anthony Gordon. But Luis Diaz has certainly been making his point since returning to the Liverpool fold earlier this month.

With the Colombian on international duty at the Copa America in June, the Reds had agreed a deal to take Gordon from Newcastle United with Joe Gomez going in the opposite direction until the Magpies pulled the plug.

While Gordon can operate on both flanks, it’s on the left where the winger – a boyhood Liverpool fan, don’t forget – has forged his reputation, a position Diaz, of course, locked down for the Reds last term.
