Reuben took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise fans for their support as their team edged past Forest on penalties.

Only 18 seconds had gone when the Magpies took the lead through Joe Willock on his first appearance since April. Unfortunately for the midfielder, he had to come off in the 15th minute because of a thigh injury.

And from then, Forest grew into the game and equalised shortly after half-time via Jota Silva. It wasn’t until the introduction of Tino Livramento, Sean Longstaff and Anthony Gordon on the hour-mark when Newcastle began to threaten.
