With his victory in the Brazil Grand Prix, Max Verstappen breaks a 71-year-old Formula 1 record.

Max Verstappen won the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, shattering yet another incredible Formula One record in the process.

The three-time world champion cruised to yet another victory at Interlagos after a wild beginning to the race.

With 17 victories out of 20 races completed so far this season, he will have a minimum win percentage of little over 77% regardless of what happens in the next two races of the season.

This surpasses the record of the best victory percentage for a Formula One season, which was held by Alberto Ascari from 1939 and stood at 75%.

That year, 71 years ago, the Italian won six of the eight races and earned the second of his two world crowns.

It was a record that even the best racers considered unachievable given how the sport’s schedule has practically quadrupled since then, but Verstappen’s flawless driving and the domination of the Red Bull RB19 have altered that.

“Today, the starts were crucial.” After the race, the 26-year-old remarked, “They were both excellent.”

After that, tire management dominated the whole race. We performed well on all tires, but in particular, I believe that during the middle stint, we had a decent opportunity to open up a small gap.

Everything appeared well, but because of the high temperatures in this area, you had to continually adjust the car, which required constant attention. Fortunately, today went really well.
